GETTING TO TOBAGO

How Best to Arrange Your Flights

Experienced travellers will tell you that when booking to travel, if you want a ‘flight only’ deal and to sort out your own accommodation, you should book your flights as far in advance as possible. That way you get the best ‘early deals’.

If however you want to book a package holiday, then the cheapest deals can be had in the weeks and (most likely) days before you wish to travel. Of course leaving things to the last minute can be a bit of a gamble. This is why I encourage you to go direct to the airline, get the best deal that you can. We in turn will help you with finding the most suitable accommodation.

Please, do not forget when booking your flights that legally you both have to have been in Trinidad & Tobago for 3 days prior to the ceremony. The day of arrival does NOT count towards those three days. Remember – if you wish to marry on a Saturday, the latest you can arrive is Tuesday.

If you are on a budget, then the cost of flights is something that you should consider an issue. Remember, in the early stages of planning it may not matter what day the ceremony is on, however the difference of a day could save you many hundreds of pounds in air fares.

The first time my husband David flew to Trinidad in 2004, this was done at the very last moment, and his flight alone cost over £1400. When we flew to Tobago in 2007 we shopped around and booked well in advance. As a result BOTH our tickets cost about £500.
